How We Started

“What if…” was the spark. It started over Thai food on a random afternoon in Hollywood, and the conversation lasted longer than the meal.

In 2024, two of us were functionally unemployed and the third was under-employed. The spark was fading from some of our favorite hobbies, so Tony asked:

What if we threw more D&D events?
What if we brought our backgrounds into every session?
What if we hired our friends who were between gigs?
What if we made it community-first?
What if we just try?

“What if…” became our dare, and it’s why you’re here reading this.

That’s how Flagons N Dragons was born: immersive D&D with a twist. What’s the worst that could happen?

Sean

Sean’s been a GM since the 1st edition Blue Box days, and he’s been building D&D worlds ever since. During Living Greyhawk (3.5 organized play) he served as the Keoland Triad, writing and running a huge library of convention content across NY, PA, and NJ, from intro adventures like Escape from Waldon Mountain to big multi-table interactives and notorious runs like Knights of Futures Past.

In Adventurers League, he’s edited multiple adventures and published the Moonshae-based Sailors on the Starless Sea on DMsGuild. At Flagons & Dragons, Sean is the deep D&D brain behind the scenes, reimagining AL Epics like Peril in the Port and Drums of the Dead, and designing immersive nights like Dinner with Strahd. Sorcerer of Sound Waves

A lifelong nerd and part-time tabletop gamer, DJ found D&D later than most—but was immediately captivated by its vast sense of wonder, escapism, and adventure. With a life in production, DJ has always strived to elevate storytellers, drawing on his background in audio production, sound design, theater, and a love of make-believe.

His core mission as part of this team is to make you believe you’re truly in the spaces we conjure. From a frozen tundra to a densely packed forest of the undead, everything you hear is crafted with purpose for each event.

Tony

With a heart of gold and a knack for adventure, Tony is one of the first faces you’ll see at any Flagons N Dragons events. A loyal companion, a ferocious leader, and fearless fighter, Tony is the brainchild behind the founding of Flagons N Dragons. Following through on a “what if” conversations between the three of us, he was the one to encourage us to put our gold where our mouth was.

Obsessed with mechanics and lore, Tony is a phenomenal DM with a focus on technical battles and massive conflicts. When he’s not over-booked with games throughout his week, you can find him at Twin Mask, dawning a fresh pair of fangs and lurking in the shadows, spending time, as a player, at tables across the valley, or catching up on the latest systems.
